My artwork is an extension of my inner
soul and the energy within me. I started
using crystals for their healing energy with
Reiki, then I began to make jewelry using
these crystals for healing. They are always
one-of-a-kind pieces because each person
I make jewelry for is unique.

Then I discovered gourds, and I began
decorating them. It becam only natural for
me to use crystals, feathers, and others
natural elements to embellish my gourd
art. I also started growing gourds. A large
one take 225+ days (7 1/2 months) to
grow to maturity plus an additional 2 to 6
months to cure. A gourd is 95% water,
just like the human body. The gourd, a
non-edible pumpkin, is symbolic of a
woman's womb. Witha a womb, neither
human nor animal life can grow.
